PETER LEYLAND / GORDON ANTHONY
Textbook on Administrative Law provides students with a thorough and topical overview of administrative law. This fifth edition has been comprehensively revised and updated to fully explain the core areas of the subject whilst at the same time setting them within a contextual framework. Inparticular there are two new chapters focussing on the Human Rights Act 1998 and its impact on judicial review, consideration of the impact of constitutional reforms on administrative law, e.g. the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the Constitutional Reform Act 2005, and coverage of the reform ofadministrative tribunals and of public inquiries. In addition, the tort liability of public authorities has been re-evaluated in the light of recent judicial decisions, and all chapters on judicial review have been revised to take account of recent case law, e.g. the House of Lords judgment in Aand Others v Home Secretary 2004.
